The Sports Presentation Company, with brand activation specialists, Cake, developed and delivered a fan-focused, world-first for the FA Cup Final 2018 to activate client EE’s sponsorship of Wembley Stadium. For this work we are proud to have been short-listed in the prestigious Football Business Awards. Thank you to the whole team & all involved. By creating simultaneous ‘FA Cup Final House Parties’ at the homes of two lucky fan of finalist clubs (Chelsea & Manchester Utd), the EE activation saw each ‘fan house’ beamed live via satellite on to the stadium big screens just before kick-off creating moments for the house party to interact with stadium fans – and vice versa. Considering the technical complexity, FA protocol and universal appeal of an FA Cup final this was a complex project but the collaborative and dynamic celebration of their clubs brought fans watching at home – across the country – together with their club-mates in-stadia. EE are both a positive influence of bringing loved ones together and the authentic football fans’ preferred choice of mobile network. Supported by SportBible & CheekySport Dave and Joel, the campaign cut through on social was also enormous.

Following the success of The World Street Soccer Championships in 2017, when events took place in London, Manchester, Prague – 2018 got off to a flying start in Tokyo, Japan recently, with the DAZN World Freestyle Masters. 24 of the best freestyle footballers in the world (16 men, 8 women) gathered in front of a noisy crowd in the packed Liquid Lounge, Ebisu to challenge for the title. Watched by reigning women’s world champ, Liv Cooke – @livcookefs the event was streamed globally by DAZN and judged stage-side by 7 – time world champions and British freestyle legend, Andrew Henderson, the innovation, technical and creative levels of all competing athletes were off the scale. By the very nature of this epic ‘clip worthy’ sport, the platform numbers for social content sharing and posting of fan skills are enviable while the global nature of the connected communities means time-zones for consumption are less important than ‘live’ long form football. This is a young sport with an incredibly bright future – and if you don’t think so, just ask your sons and daughters.
With further investment, events in several disciplines including 3 v 3, freestyle Routines, Battles & Obstacles this year already set for South America, Africa, USA and UK, and a big announcement coming about a new online content channel, stay tuned to @WorldStreet3s for regular updates.
